Crouch pulling the dreads of the defener and the defender having a bit of a swing at him. Personally I think it’s a foul on the defender as Crouch has stopped him from jumping by pulling his hair.
Comment on the game
I think that part of the problem is that everybody thought that Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago would be rubbish, but both have give Sweden and England tough tests. More credit should go to the opposition rather than laying in to England. However yesterday was a curious match. Gerrard and Lampard were both below par, and apart from his great goal Gerrard had a poor game. Despite being one of the best crossers of the ball Beckham had to watch Carragher deliver crosses from the right with little success. The Defence was good with Terry playing one of his best games in an England shirt however Robinson let himself down with a couple of flaps at the ball.
It wasn’t that England played badly, more that they just didn’t seem to click. We have a tough game against Sweden to get things right before the serious stuff starts.
Who will we play next?
Well I really believe that if England finish top their opponents will be Germany. I fancy them to beat Germany, or draw to finish top of their group. Ecuador are solid, well organised, defend with commitment and are good going forward. For England it will be good if Germany do finish second as I think that England will find more joy exploiting Germany’s loose defence than we would against a solid Ecuador team.
