Just What Did Materazzi Say To Zidane?
Let me start by annoucing that I think Franz Beckenbauer is a genius. He is sure that Zidane was provoked - “Something must have been said to Zidane.” - said the astute one. And there was me thinking Zidane was just head-butting Materazzi for the hell of it!
The big question is: what did Materazzi say turn Zidane in to a raging bull?
Lets go though what’s being said.
In an exclusive for The Sun a lip-reader claims that Materazzi called Zidane a “son of a terrorist whore”!
The Mirror report on the BBC’s finding that what was said was that Materazzi wish Zidane an “ugly death on you and your family”. These lip readers seem to be reading different lips.
The Mirror continue that an Italian website (though they don’t source it) claim that Materazzi said: “All of you (refering to Algerian heritage) deserve that, f*****g Muslims, terrorist b******s”.
But could it be something totally different like he hoped that Zidane’s first coach - Jean Ferrade - who had recently died, had a suffering death? Or even that he told Zidane he should play for his own country? The Mirror are keeping all options open!
A Paris-based anti-racism group, SOS-Racism said that Zidane was called a “dirty terrorist”
Materazzi claims that there is no why he would have called Zidane a terrorist as he doesn’t even no what the word means! [Materazzi please click here]
But wait could it be to do with Zidane’s sister? This Blog reports that Brazilian TV channel Globo used lip-readers who claimed that Materazzi may have called her a “prostitute”.
However maybe these two clips with audio may solve the riddle!
